POSITION SUMMARY
The Agency Producer is responsible for driving new personal lines business for The Pennington Group Insurance Agency. You will work agency-provided leads, self-generated referrals, and community relationships to identify prospects, complete needs-based coverage reviews, and convert quotes into long-term multi-policy households.
This is a full-cycle sales role. You own the relationship from first contact through quoting, closing, onboarding, and account rounding — and you are measured on the growth and quality of the book you build.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business Development
- Respond to agency-provided leads, inbound calls, and web inquiries promptly, with a target first-contact response time of under 10 minutes during business hours.
- Prospect consistently through outbound calls, text, email, and follow-up on aged and unsold quotes.
- Build and maintain referral relationships with realtors, mortgage lenders, auto dealers, and local business owners.
- Represent the agency at community events, chamber functions, and networking groups to generate local visibility and referral flow.
- Maintain an accurate, current pipeline in the agency management system with disciplined follow-up cadences.
Quoting & Coverage Design
- Conduct needs-based discovery to understand each household's assets, exposures, drivers, property details, and risk tolerance.
- Quote across the full range of Farmers products and platforms to identify the best combination of coverage and price for each household.
- Present options that lead with protection — recommending appropriate liability limits, deductibles, umbrella coverage, and endorsements rather than defaulting to the lowest premium.
- Clearly document coverage recommendations, along with any coverage the client declines, to protect both the client and the agency.
Closing & Onboarding
- Bind coverage accurately, collect required documentation, signatures, and down payments, and set up recurring billing.
- Complete a welcome call or onboarding review with every new client to confirm coverage, explain billing, and set service expectations.
- Ensure a clean handoff to the service team with complete and accurate file documentation.
Account Rounding & Retention
- Convert monoline policies into multiline households by cross-selling home, auto, umbrella, and life coverage.
- Partner with the Life Insurance Specialist and Commercial Producer to refer qualified opportunities.
- Ask for referrals at every positive client touchpoint, including at bind and at first renewal.
- Support retention efforts by re-engaging at-risk clients identified through renewal and cancellation reports.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain complete, timely, and accurate records in the agency management system for every quote, contact, and transaction.
- Follow all Farmers underwriting guidelines, binding authority limits, and agency procedures.
- Comply with Texas Department of Insurance regulations and maintain licensing and continuing education in good standing.
- Follow errors-and-omissions best practices in all client communication and documentation.
