Production Supervisor – Welding Operations (2nd Shift)
Center Line, Michigan
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Base Salary + Overtime Eligible After 40 Hours
We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor with strong automotive manufacturing experience to oversee Welding Operations on 2nd shift. The ideal candidate must be results-oriented, a strong problem solver, and capable of driving operational performance while reducing downtime and improving efficiency.
This role requires a proven track record leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure daily production targets and operational requirements are achieved
- Supervise welding production activities and support daily operations on the production floor
- Ensure machines, welding equipment, fixtures, and tools remain operational
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency and downtime reduction
- Ensure employees follow quality, safety, housekeeping, and production standards
- Perform random audits and process checks as needed
- Support troubleshooting and effective resolution of production issues and equipment breakdowns
- Coordinate operator training and identify development opportunities
- Communicate production concerns and abnormalities to leadership
- Maintain and control technical and production documentation
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety systems and company policies
- Promote ethical conduct and compliance with company standards and regulations
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in an automotive environment
- Previous Line Leader or Production Leadership experience required
- Hands-on experience in welding manufacturing operations
- Proven ability to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with manufacturing processes, material flow, pull systems, SOPs, inspection procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working knowledge of:
- FMEA
- PM Systems
- Kaizen / Continuous Improvement
- Control Plans
- Standard Operating Procedures
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet
- English communication skills required
Preferred
- Technical training in Production, Mechanical, Electronics, or related field
- Basic maintenance knowledge
- Experience in robotic welding and automotive manufacturing environments
- Experience working within a strong safety culture
