Position Summary

The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while helping customers select the right trailer for their needs. This role builds lasting relationships with customers, generates new business opportunities, and works closely with the Parts, Service, and Finance departments to ensure a seamless ownership experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of successful sales experience preferred.
• Experience in trailers, automotive, RV, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, powersports, or similar industries is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Comfortable using dealership software, CRM systems, email, and basic computer applications.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work Saturdays and occasional extended hours during busy seasons.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting the trailer that best fits their needs and budget.
• Deliver an outstanding customer experience from the initial inquiry through delivery and follow-up.
• Generate and follow up on sales leads from phone calls, website inquiries, walk-in traffic, referrals, and social media.
• Build long-term customer relationships that result in repeat business and referrals.
• Prepare quotes, purchase agreements, financing paperwork, and all required sales documentation accurately.
• Coordinate with the Finance, Parts, and Service departments to ensure a smooth delivery process.
• Stay knowledgeable about all trailer brands, models, specifications, accessories, financing options, warranties, and promotions.
• Demonstrate trailer features and educate customers on proper operation, maintenance, and ownership.
• Follow dealership sales processes and maintain accurate customer records in the dealership management system.
• Always represent Premier Trailer Sales with professionalism, honesty, and integrity.

Daily Responsibilities

• Greet every customer promptly with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Respond quickly to phone calls, emails, text messages, and online leads.
• Follow up with active customers and previous prospects.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales opportunities.
• Keep the showroom, lot, and displays clean, organized, and presentation-ready.
• Work closely with teammates to ensure every customer receives outstanding service.
• Continue learning about new trailer models, products, accessories, and industry trends.

Weekly Responsibilities

• Meet with the Sales Manager to review individual and team sales goals.
• Participate in sales meetings and training sessions.
• Review inventory and identify opportunities to improve merchandising and inventory presentation.
• Follow up on outstanding quotes and pending sales opportunities.
• Assist with dealership promotions, events, and marketing initiatives.

Monthly Responsibilities

• Review sales performance, customer satisfaction, and personal goals with the Sales Manager.
• Develop action plans for continued growth and improvement.
• Assist in evaluating sales processes and recommending improvements to better serve customers.

Quarterly Responsibilities

• Participate in performance reviews and professional development planning.
• Complete product and sales training as assigned.
• Review dealership goals and contribute ideas to improve sales performance and customer experience.

Annual Responsibilities

• Participate in annual performance evaluations.
• Establish professional and sales goals for the upcoming year.
• Complete required certifications and manufacturer training.
• Continue developing product knowledge and sales skills to remain an industry expert.
