The Installer is responsible for safely transporting, installing, servicing, and removing a wide variety of interior and exterior signs, graphics, architectural elements, and related products at customer locations. This position works independently and as part of an installation crew to complete projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards. The Installer represents the company professionally while interacting with customers, contractors, vendors, and the public.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate company vehicles, including commercial vehicles, to transport personnel, tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport signs, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Read and interpret work orders, installation instructions, blueprints, shop drawings, and site plans.
- Install interior and exterior signs, banners, dimensional letters, monument signs, channel letters, vinyl graphics, window graphics, ADA signage, architectural signage, and related products.
- Measure, level, align, and verify sign placement to ensure accurate installation.
- Dig holes, prepare foundations, set poles, assemble structures, and perform other site preparation activities.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, lifts, forklifts, cranes, augers, and other equipment for which training has been provided.
- Perform service calls, repairs, removals, maintenance, and warranty work as assigned.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer jobsite safety requirements.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing assigned duties.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work vehicle and job site.
- Communicate project progress, delays, material shortages, and field issues to supervisors.
- Complete required documentation, photographs, inspection forms, and work orders accurately and timely.
- Provide professional customer service while representing the company at customer locations.
- Assist with warehouse operations, fabrication support, staging materials, inventory movement, and shop cleanup as needed.
- Attend required meetings and safety training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in sign installation, construction, carpentry, electrical work, fabrication, or a related trade preferred.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely use installation equipment.
- Ability to read measuring devices, blueprints, and installation drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrates reliable attendance and punctuality and accurately records all work time in the company's designated timekeeping system in accordance with company policy.
- Must be flexible to travel locally and occasionally overnight as business needs require.
- Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules based on project demands.
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at different job sites.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively while working at customer locations.
- Must be willing and able to work at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolding, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other aerial equipment in accordance with company safety policies and required training.
- Must be comfortable working at significant heights while maintaining safe work practices and using required fall protection and personal protective equipment (PPE).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation
