We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to maintain payroll information, ensure accurate processing, and support overall payroll operations. In this role, you will work closely with the Payroll Manager, process daily payroll transactions, manage time and attendance systems, and maintain employee payroll records in full compliance with state and federal regulations.
Work Schedule
- Hours: 1st shift (pending confirmation) Between 7 to 3.30 pm or 8 to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday
- Pay Rate: DOE $23 to $26 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Collect, calculate, and enter data to maintain accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Process pay rates vs. piece count calculations ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Execute time and attendance processing and payroll interfaces using Paylocity.
- Process accurate year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.).
- Update payroll records (changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job titles, and department transfers).
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by analyzing data and answering employee inquiries.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee personal and financial information.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
- Software: Strong PC skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with Paylocity (or similar payroll software).
- Knowledge: Working knowledge of payroll best practices and strong familiarity with federal and California state payroll regulations.
