We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician with a strong, balanced background in both residential and commercial climate systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in residential HVAC and 3 years in commercial HVAC service, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance.
Bonus / Preferred: Experience servicing commercial hot side / cooking equipment (grills, fryers, ovens, gas lines) is a major plus, as our service scope covers comprehensive commercial kitchen and facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Service: Troubleshoot, repair, and service residential and commercial HVAC/R equipment, including heat pumps, split systems, rooftop units (RTUs), and ventilation systems.
Maintenance: Perform thorough preventative maintenance checks on both residential and commercial units.
Commercial Kitchen Equipment (Hot Side): Inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial gas and electrical cooking equipment (e.g., grills, ovens, fryers, commercial ranges) when required.
Installation & Fabrication: Perform system replacements, ductwork modifications (including custom plenum/distribution box fabrication), and component retrofits.
System Balancing & Controls: Set electrical components, calibrate controls, level commercial units, and verify operational sequence for proper performance.
Customer Service & Reporting: Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners, property managers, and restaurant operators. Document service notes, parts used, and diagnostic readings accurately via our field management software (Housecall Pro).
At Pappas Parts & Service,Inc , we pride ourselves on providing top-tier, reliable service to both our residential neighbors and commercial clients throughout the area. From home climate control to complex commercial equipment and LP/Natural Gas systems, we get the job done right the first time. We’re looking for a skilled, self-motivated HVAC Technician to join our team and uphold our standard of quality.
At our shop, you’re not just a dispatcher’s ticket number or a guy stuck running 10 back-to-back residential filter changes a day. We operate a high-skill, multi-trade business covering residential HVAC, commercial rooftop units, gas systems, and commercial kitchen equipment.
If you're a real technician who takes pride in diagnostic work, custom fabrication, and actually solving complex problems—rather than just pushing system sales—this is where you want to be. You get variety in your daily calls, consistent year-round work, direct communication with leadership without corporate red tape, and the respect that comes with doing quality craftsman-level work
Diverse Daily Work (No Monotony): Unlike single-focus residential shops where techs run identical calls all day, your team handles a blend of residential heat pumps, commercial RTUs, controls, gas piping, and hot side commercial kitchen gear. Candidates won't get bored.
Respect for the Craft over Hard Selling: Many techs leave big-box HVAC companies because they are pressured to meet high sales quotas on every service call. Emphasizing a culture focused on honest diagnostics, repairs, and high-quality craftsmanship is a huge selling point for seasoned techs.
Direct Access & Real Support: They work directly with a hands-on owner who actually knows the field, understands tight attic spaces, complex electrical retrofits, and roof work, rather than a corporate manager behind a desk who has never touched a gauge set.
Modern Tools & Smooth Operations: Clean dispatching and field operations through Housecall Pro, well-maintained service vehicles, and clear daily scheduling keep frustration low and efficiency high.
Local Community Impact: A strong local presence across the community means techs build real relationships with local business owners, restaurant operators, and neighbors.
