Broken Arrow, OK: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Intermediate Vessel Welder for a confidential manufacturing client in Broken Arrow, OK. The ideal candidate will have experience with pressure vessel fabrication, MIG (metal core) and flux core welding, and the ability to pass a 3G weld test (1" plate test).
Essential Duties:
- Perform MIG (metal core) and flux core welding on pressure vessel components, piping, structural materials, and assemblies.
- Weld in accordance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and required quality standards.
- Fabricate and weld vessel components, brackets, braces, piping, and structural materials.
- Perform fit-up of pipe, flanges, and vessel components with minimal supervision.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, fabrication drawings, and work instructions.
- Position materials using jigs, fixtures, measuring tools, and hand tools.
- Produce welds that meet X-ray and ultrasonic testing requirements with minimal rework.
- Operate flame cutting, plasma cutting, grinding, and other fabrication equipment.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and work effectively as part of a team.
- Operate forklifts and other shop equipment as needed.
Requirements/Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
- Experience with pressure vessel fabrication is preferred.
- Proficient in MIG (metal core) and flux core welding.
- Welding certification required.
- Must be able to pass a 3G weld test (1" plate test) and applicable non-destructive examination requirements.
- Knowledge of pipe fabrication, structural steel, and vessel materials.
- Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Experience using grinders, plasma cutting equipment, measuring tools, and fabrication equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work a day shift (6:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday) with occasional Saturdays as needed.
