Journeyman Electrician – Commercial & Industrial

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team and support a variety of commercial and industrial electrical projects throughout Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have strong field experience, a solid understanding of electrical systems, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of safety and workmanship.

This position will work on new installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, maintenance, and electrical system improvements across commercial and industrial environments.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and project drawings.
• Install and terminate conduit, wiring, panels, switchgear, and other electrical equipment.
• Perform lighting installations, retrofits, and LED conversions.
• Work with transformers, high-voltage electrical systems, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and identify the source of system failures.
• Perform electrical testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Use electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools safely and effectively.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with NEC requirements, local codes, and company safety standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, other electricians, contractors, and customers as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid Journeyman Electrician license.
• 3+ years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and NEC requirements.
• Experience bending and installing conduit.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with commercial lighting, panels, transformers, and electrical equipment.
• Comfortable troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical problems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in a variety of commercial and industrial environments.
