Position Overview:
We are seeking an OTR or COTA to help with school – based work in Asheville, North Carolina. Opportunity for full time work as well as maternity leave coverage. We need COTAs and OTRs with an adventurous spirit and love for children. Experience in the schools preferred, but we can mentor/train a clinical pediatric occupational therapist/COTA that wants to gain experience working in the schools. Job Specifics:
The occupational therapist for this position will select and administer assessments and observations to students in accordance with their IEPs to help them thrive in every learning environment, develop evaluations and identify the next steps for student growth and well-being, assess student needs in their ongoing development, evaluate and provide intervention to students, maintain clear and organized records of each referred student, and closely collaborate with the Special Education team on student needs.
The occupational therapist/COTA shall clearly communicate with school leaders, teachers, and families about individual student’s progress and ways to assist student growth.
The OT/COTA candidate must have at least a bachelor’s degree in occupational and necessary licensing/certifications, in accordance with federal and state laws.

Collaborate with SLP/OT/School Psychologist to participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (IEP) Committee to assist in interpretation of assessment, data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students eligible for Occupational Therapy services.
