COTA / Occupational Therapy Assistant– PART TIME (FLEXIBLE HOURS)

Location: Mount Airy, MD

Hours: Part-Time (20H/WK), Day Shift, M-F, Flexible Hours

Contract length: 13 Weeks (renewable)

Pay: $41/hour

Position Summary: The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA assists residents in achieving maximum independence, functional ability, and quality of life through therapeutic interventions and resident-centered care.

Essential Functions

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic activities to improve daily living skills, mobility, strength, coordination, and functional performance.
• Observe and report resident progress, concerns, and changes in condition.
• Document treatments and resident responses accurately and timely.
• Assist with evaluations, screenings, and data collection as directed.
• Educate residents and families regarding therapy programs and safety techniques.
• Maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to achieve resident goals.
• Participate in care planning and quality improvement activities.
• Comply with facility policies and all applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program with current state licensure or certification. Long-term care or rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, transfer, and assist residents throughout the workday. Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
