What You'll Do

You'll run service calls in your own company van, with a helper working under your direction. Most of your work is commercial, with residential service filling the schedule when commercial isn't booked. A typical week looks like:

• Respond to service calls at commercial properties — offices, retail, restaurants, warehouses — and diagnose electrical faults in lighting, receptacles, panels, and equipment circuits
• Troubleshoot and repair 120/208V and 277/480V systems, single-phase and three-phase
• Perform panel work: breaker replacement, circuit additions, load balancing, and panel change-outs
• Service commercial lighting — LED retrofits, ballast and driver replacement, exit and emergency lighting repairs
• Bend, install, and repair EMT conduit and make code-compliant repairs
• Handle residential service work between commercial jobs — troubleshooting, panel and breaker work, receptacle and GFCI/AFCI repairs, fixture and ceiling fan installs, and small remodel wiring
• Scope each job on-site, explain the problem and the fix in plain language to property managers and business owners, and complete the work with clear documentation
• Direct and mentor your helper on the job — teach as you work
• Keep your van stocked, organized, and ready for the next call

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of electrical experience including commercial service/troubleshooting work (not just new construction)
• Well-rounded: comfortable working in both commercial buildings and occupied homes
• Confident diagnosing problems independently and seeing repairs through start to finish
• Working knowledge of the NEC and local code requirements
• Able to read blueprints, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules
• Safe, disciplined use of multimeters, clamp meters, meggers, and voltage testers; solid lockout/tagout habits
• Professional with customers — you'll represent us to property managers, business owners, and homeowners on every job
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (you'll operate a company service van)
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, work from ladders and lifts, and access attics, ceilings, and mechanical rooms
• Own hand tools

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• State journeyman or master electrician license — tell us what you hold
• Motor controls, contactors, VFDs, or building controls experience
• Low-voltage experience (data, fire alarm, access control)
• Scissor/boom lift certification
• OSHA 10 or 30

Schedule

Primarily daytime hours, Monday–Friday. Because we serve commercial customers, some jobs require evening or after-hours work — we'll always give you as much notice as we can.

We are a growing electrical service company serving businesses, property managers, and homeowners across the [City] area. Commercial service is our core work, with residential jobs filling the schedule between commercial calls — so we're looking for a well-rounded electrician who's comfortable in a warehouse panel room one day and a homeowner's kitchen the next. Every day is different, and you'll be the face of the company on each call. You'll run a fully stocked company service van with a helper at your side, so you can focus on the electrical work while developing the next tradesperson.
