This position is responsible for controls activities in the press shop related to the implementation of new capital equipment, continuous improvement, and maintenance support. The position may also be required to assist in secondary process areas with specific programming needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• Support the Company’s mission, vision, and values in performance of daily activities
• Maintain PLC based control systems for maintenance group
• Program PLC ladder logic from start to finish
• Lead projects and assist skilled trades in electrical disciplines
• Support Maintenance in electrical/controls troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities
• Generate wiring schematics and control drawings with AutoCAD, maintain all plant electrical prints
• Work closely with Senior controls engineer and system control needs
• Knowledgeable of industrial control components and assist with MRO crib
• Guide design, develop and test electrical control methods, materials, processes and results
• Train, coach, and mentor the electrical controls process with skilled trades colleagues
• Able to work after hours and be on call at times. Move to off shift for short periods of time
• Must also be able to understand all electrical schematics

Education and Experience
To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position. The following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in a relevant field of study is strongly preferred
Associates degree in relevant field of study is required
Experience:
· Five (5) or more years of experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment
· Three (3) or more years of experience in press room or related field
· Stamping and Assembly manufacturing experience in the auto industry strongly preferred
· Experience working with Aida, Minster, Schuler, Eagle, Verson and Danly coil fed straight side presses and blank/coil fed transfer presses. Need a good understanding of the working controls and s
