At Progress Rail, the team is not just building the future of rail-they are making history every day. **Education / Training:** - A Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent relevant experience will be considered; - 5+ years of experience in inventory control and/or management; - 3+ years' experience managing the work of others. **Job Title:** Materials Manager **City:** Sidney **Key Job Elements:** - Learn and understand the material within the PR facility (part numbers, sizes, etc); - Orders material for production, reviewing planned orders and current inventories and issues purchase orders; - Manages Inventory Cycle Counts; - Serves as backup for indirect purchases; places orders for shop floor needs; - Works with Sales to help with Sales Contracts and fix customer grief in LN; - Manage inventory counts and report on inventory; - Order material for production lines; - Review and manage planned orders and current inventory levels; - Issue purchase orders as needed; - Segregate and store material with forklift, wheel loader and other machinery; - Train and develop direct reports and hold these direct reports accountable - Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers; - Ensure company standards and practices in regard to inventory are followed; - Perform physical inventories; - Act as customer service POC for multiple accounts; - May assist with supplier and customer negotiations; - Performs additional job-related duties as assigned. **Qualifications and Experience:** - Experience forecasting and budgeting; - Experience and knowledge of purchasing process; - Experience using SAP or other related software - Strong negotiation and decision-making skills; - Excellent communication skills required; - Experience working in a manufacturing environment; - Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail; - Microsoft Office skills required. **EEO:** Progress Rail is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities. **Benefits:** Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
