We are actively seeking a Contracts Administrator to join a wellestablished, employee-owned construction organization specializing in underground utility and infrastructure projects across California. In this role, you will serve as a key partner to Operations, Finance, and project teams by ensuring contracts, subcontracts, insurance, and compliance requirements are executed accurately and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Skillfully review and analyze prime contracts to identify key obligations, deadlines, risk exposures, and compliance requirements.
- Prepare, coordinate, and process contract modifications and change documentation in collaboration with project teams.
- Maintain organized and auditready contract records across both physical and digital filing systems.
- Draft, issue, and manage subcontracts and purchase orders from award through final closeout, ensuring proper contract flowdown.
- Administer subcontract change orders by validating scope, obtaining approvals, and distributing executed documents.
- Collect, track, and verify insurance certificates and endorsements for subcontractors and vendors throughout each project.
- Identify coverage gaps or compliance issues and issue corrective notices in a timely, documented manner.
- Confirm subcontractor licensing, classifications, and required California registrations prior to and during active projects.
- Manage lien waiver documentation in accordance with California Civil Code requirements and maintain accurate tracking logs.
- Track bonds and related documentation and support audit and project closeout activities through complete compliance files.
- Maintain contract databases and produce regular compliance status reports for internal stakeholders.
To Be Successful in This Role, You’ll Bring
- 2+ years of experience in contract administration within construction, engineering, or a related industry.
- Exposure to California public works projects and regulatory requirements such as DIR, CSLB, and lien law.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of common contract formats such as AIA, AGC, ConsensusDocs, and ownerspecific agreements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using construction accounting or document control systems preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
- High level of organization, accuracy, and followthrough while managing multiple active projects.
- Professional, solutionsfocused approach when handling deadlines, compliance issues, or competing priorities.
