We are in search of a Controller to oversee our financial operations within the service industry in Lexington, Kentucky, United States. The Controller will manage financial activities, ensure the accuracy of financial records, provide insightful analysis, and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
Key responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards
• Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to optimize liquidity and working capital management
• Oversee payroll processing, tax compliance, and insurance coverage
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Analyze financial data and key performance indicators to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
• Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making and business planning
• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities in collaboration with department heads and project managers
• Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, and provide explanations for deviations from targets
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support long-term planning and capital investment decisions
• Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation to support audit processes
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
• Implement controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and minimize exposure to financial liabilities
• Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
• Must hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role as a Controller.
