We are offering an opportunity for a Controller to join our team in Baldwin, Wisconsin. The primary function of this role is to oversee and manage the financial aspects of our business. This role is critical in providing accurate financial information to various stakeholders and managing the financial operations of our entities.
Responsibilities:
• Providing precise financial information to owners, which includes monthly and annual accrual P and L for each entity, cash balances, loan balances, and cash flow projections
• Assisting owners in deploying plans created from analysis of financial data and managing real estate transactions and exchanges
• Providing cost of production projection before the season to the managers, monitoring monthly expenses, income, and cash flow
• Ensuring customers receive accurate data for purchased products, grain sales, storage, and contracts
• Providing accurate information to auditors for grain and vegetable audits for compliance
• Delivering accurate financials to the tax preparers for each entity in a timely manner and working with the owners' tax preparers to implement plans developed from the financials for tax efficiency
• Analyzing and managing employee programs like health insurance, 401k, etc., to ensure best practices for our employees
• Handling captive insurance policies, claims, and managing workman’s compensation policy and claims
The Controller will require comprehensive knowledge of accounting software systems, CRM, Crystal Reports, and QuickBooks. They should also have in-depth understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and month end close procedures. Proficiency in cost accounting, accruals, auditing, and a solid grasp of accounts payable and receivable is essential for this role.• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller
• Proficiency in 3M and CRM
• Advanced knowledge of Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Proficiency in Crystal Reports
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven experience in Auditing and Budget Processes
• Understanding of Profit and loss statements
• Skills in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, and Standard Cost Accounting
• Experience with Accruals and Monthly Accruals
• Familiarity with Audit - Financial
• Proficiency in QuickBooks
• Experience in Budgeting and Budgeting - Forecasting
• Knowledge of Month End Close procedures
• Understanding of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
