RPh on the go is seeking a Pharmacy Technician with a year or more experience.The ideal candidate will have long term care pharmacy experience.
Shift: Shift: M-F,Mid shift (10:30/11:30am- 7/8pm), rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Preparation and Dispensing:
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications, including oral, topical, and intravenous forms.
- Label medications and provide necessary instructions for administration.
- Ensure medications are delivered in a timely manner, adhering to scheduled medication times.
Medication Management:
- Review medication orders and prescriptions for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with medication therapy management, including dose adjustments and therapeutic changes under the guidance of the pharmacist.
- Monitor and manage medication inventories, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
Patient and Facility Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and facility administrators, to clarify medication orders and resolve issues.
- Provide medication-related education to residents and facility staff, including proper administration techniques and potential side effects.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing pharmacy practice and medication distribution.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including medication administration records and medication profile documentation.
Quality Assurance:
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, including medication error reporting and analysis.
- Conduct regular checks of medication storage areas for compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist with the preparation of reports, logs, and documentation required for regulatory compliance and internal audits.
- Perform routine clerical tasks, including answering phones, processing medication orders, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Continuous Learning and Development:
- Stay updated with current pharmacy practices, medications, and long-term care regulations.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
Required:
- Pharmacy technician experience,.
- Long term care experience a plus.
- Tennessee Pharmacy tech license.
