Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team on a full-time basis near Shelton, Washington. The ideal candidate will possess a Washington State ESA certification with a Sign Language Interpreter (SIL) endorsement and will be passionate about facilitating munication for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation in various educational settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and other professionals to support the educational needs of students.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) and other related services.
- Participate in team meetings, providing input on student progress and interpreting needs.
- Support students in both one-on-one and group settings, ensuring that they have full access to the curriculum.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Washington State ESA certification with a Sign Language Interpreter (SIL) endorsement.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of Deaf culture.
- Previous experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
