We are seeking an Accounting Clerk for our operations in Charleston, South Carolina. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity and involves credit card transaction processing, account reconciliation, and maintaining accurate financial records. The successful candidate will be tasked with various responsibilities in the accounting function.
Responsibilities:
• Process credit card transactions in an efficient and accurate manner
• Conduct account reconciliation tasks for customer accounts
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Perform data entry tasks to update and maintain accurate customer records
• Process invoices in a timely manner
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks
• Operate Viewpoint Spectrum software for accounting operations
• Manage credit card charges, payments, receipts, and reconciliation
• Oversee the processing of credit card statements
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.• Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role in the accounting field
• Familiarity with basic accounting procedures, including account reconciliation and invoicing
• Hands-on experience with accounting software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Viewpoint Spectrum
• Proficiency in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Experience with processing credit card payments, charges, and receipts
• Proficient in credit card reconciliation and transaction processing
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills
• Familiarity with billing procedures and invoice processing
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of accuracy and efficiency in work output
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
