We are offering an opportunity for a Controller to join our team based in Battle Creek, Michigan. This role will contribute to our industry by overseeing all general ledger activities, ensuring our accounting procedures adhere to industry-specific regulations, and implementing efficiency improvements in our financial management processes.

Responsibilities:

• Produce accurate financial reports to inform strategic decisions
• Ensure all accounting processes align with company goals and adhere to industry-specific compliance regulations
• Coordinate with external auditors, manage internal controls, and oversee regular audits
• Prepare and submit tax returns and other statutory reports as required
• Collaborate with project managers to track project margins, analyze variances, and identify financial risks
• Oversee payroll, employee benefits, and accounts payable/receivable functions
• Implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to improve operational efficiency
• Stay informed about current technologies, accounting standards, and government regulations affecting the industry
• Coordinate with senior management during strategic planning and forecasting processes
• Utilize skills such as CRM, Crystal Reports, and Accounting Software Systems to enhance financial management processes.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position
• Proficiency in 3M, CRM, and Crystal Reports
• Strong knowledge of accounting software systems
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with auditing processes and procedures
• Experience in budget processes and financial forecasting
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
