We are in search of a diligent Controller to join our team in Plymouth, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing our day-to-day finance operations and leading a financial team. Your tasks will include overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions, as well as ensuring compliance with applicable GAAP standards and funding regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger account transactions.
• Assure compliance with GAAP standards and funding
regulations/requirements.• Prepare and oversee account reconciliations of expenditure, revenue, and balance sheet accounts, and resolve financial discrepancies monthly.
• Prepare monthly interim financial statements and program financial reports.
• Make recommendations to ensure appropriate accounting practices and compliance with established financial policies and procedures.
• Foster a positive and supportive work environment, strengthening internal communications with staff at all organizational levels.
• Develop and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
• Maintain the accounting systems and oversee the updating and implementing new modules, as required.
• Perform other duties necessary to support the agency's fiscal goals.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; CPA highly preferred.
At least 7 years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally with a complex non-profit with multiple Federal/State contracts.
Non-profit accounting, knowledge of grants and compliance processes needed
Strong interpersonal skills, and proficient written and verbal communication skills required.
