Robert Half's marketing & creative client is looking for a Managing Editor for a 2-month assignment. This is a remote, 40-hour-per-week opportunity; candidates must be willing and able to work eastern (ET) hours. The Managing Editor will be assisting the client with a large content/voice alignment initiative. They will be responsible for taking a high volume of existing long-form content and revamping it into digestible, engaging pieces for marketing purposes. Additional responsibilities include:
- Developing and enforcing standards for consistency in tone, voice, and messaging
- Creating and editing compelling short and long-form copy that is engaging, accurate, and meaningful
- Converting long-form content into more engaging, clear, selling and concise stories
- Developing content strategy and ensure alignment with the overall marketing strategy
- Crafting collateral content including short-form articles, infographics, and copy
- Reviewing, proofreading, and editing content to eliminate repetitive content while ensuring the accuracy of the information
- Foster a storytelling mindset that brings our content to life while maintaining a high level of substance and credibility

- Degree in communications, marketing, or related
- 7+ years of experience in editing, copywriting, or similar
- Proven managing editorial experience
- Previous experience working for a magazine or major publication is a huge plus
- Exceptional editing and proofreading skills
- Strong sense of brand voice, tone, and message alignment
- Ability to transform complex information into digestible, engaging, and persuasive content
- AP Style knowledge
- Ability to develop a creative content strategy for complex, somewhat dry material
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent communication and project management skills
