Registered Nurse Needed for Child Adolescent Unit

Unit details:
- Child Adolescent Unit: Children with a variety of behavioral challenges and diagnoses on the unit; many have a mood disorder such as disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, or externalizing disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and oppositional defiant disorder.
Shift: 5x8 or 3x12
Pay: Based on experience starting at $32/hr, higher with experience plus shift differential ($3/hr for evenings, $4.50/hr for nights, $1.50/hr for weekends.)

Must have qualifications:
- License: MD RN License
- Certification: AHA approved Basic Life Support/CPR certification
- Experience: New Grads considered!
- Education: Associate degree
- Preferred: Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred
Responsibilities:
- Multi-disciplinary assessment, evaluation, crisis intervention, and stabilization of adolescent female and male patients.
- Discharge planning emphasizes movement to day hospital or outpatient care as soon as the crisis has been stabilized.
- Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.
- Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
- Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
- Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff.
- Document and report patient progress to treatment team.
