Position Details:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Location: On-site in Mount Vernon, WA
- Duration: Next school year
- Salary: $25-35per hour
Core Responsibilities:
Medication Administration:
- Overview: Ensure students receive the correct dosages of medications promptly according to school policies and physician directives.
- Tasks: Oversee medication administration, manage medication storage, and maintain accurate medication records.
Health Record Management:
- Overview: Maintain and organize comprehensive student health records, including immunization records, health histories, and medication logs.
- Tasks: Regularly update health records, ensure accuracy, and uphold confidentiality standards.
Healthcare Plan Development:
- Overview: Work with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to design and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with unique health needs.
- Tasks: Evaluate student health requirements, develop tailored care plans, and coordinate with all relevant parties to provide effective care.
Emergency Medical Response:
- Overview: Provide immediate care during medical emergencies, including administering first aid and life-saving interventions.
- Tasks: Quickly respond to emergencies, deliver emergency medical care, and document incidents accurately.
Health Education:
- Overview: Promote a healthy school environment by educating students and staff on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Tasks: Conduct health workshops, distribute educational materials, and offer individualized health education.
Routine Health Screenings:
- Overview: Perform regular health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, and address any arising concerns.
- Tasks: Carry out screenings, record results, and refer students for further evaluation as needed.
Qualifications:
- License: Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Washington
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certified
- Experience: Preferred experience in school or pediatric healthcare settings
- Skills: Expertise in nursing practices for all age groups; strong communication and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented, organized, and a team player
