Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced BCBA for a full-time contract position in Highland Park, IL. This role is to cover a leave and will extend from ASAP through November 2024. This school-based position provides an excellent opportunity to support students with special education needs through effective behavior analysis and intervention strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with educational teams and families to enhance student outcomes and ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Behavior Plan Development: Develop, implement, and oversee individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) tailored to each students specific needs and behavioral goals.
- Functional Behavior Assessments: Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors and create targeted intervention strategies.
- Direct Support: Provide one-on-one behavioral support to students using evidence-based behavior analysis techniques to address behavioral issues and promote positive behavioral changes.
- Collaboration with School Staff: Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and other school professionals to integrate behavior management strategies into classroom routines and support educational objectives.
- Family Engagement: Partner with families to provide training and support on behavior management techniques, ensuring consistency and alignment between school and home environments.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, behavioral data, and the effectiveness of interventions.
- Participation in IEP Meetings: Contribute to the development of behavior-related goals and objectives during Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research and advancements in behavior analysis and special education to apply best practices effectively.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
- Extensive experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of behavior analysis principles and effective intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Must comply with all local and state regulatory requirements.
