Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of full charge accounting experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on tax accounting and regulatory reporting. This role emphasizes independent accounting work, including the preparation of year-end reports that are tax return ready.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various accounting tasks such as data entry, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, journal entries, payroll entry analysis, and financial statement preparation.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly accounting tasks for multiple clients.
  • Prepare payroll and sales tax returns.
  • Compile and file Form 1099s.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and staff on various issues.
  • Assist with tax preparation input.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years of full charge accounting experience in public accounting.
  • Proficiency in debits and credits, as well as general ledger accounting tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software (both online and desktop) and ability to troubleshoot with clients.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • CPA firm experience is a plus.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with the ability to work overtime during peak season (February through April).
  • In-office position.
