Our client has an excellent opportunity for a Physician's Assistant that is based in Westchester County in our Neurology Department.
Work in a NEW, State of the Art, multi-specialty facility, close to all major highways and only 30 minutes from NYC!
Medical services rendered by Physician Assistants may include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations; writing progress notes, procedure notes, and monthly care plans, ordering and/or performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; formulating a diagnosis; developing and implementing a treatment plan; monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs; making appropriate referrals.
Physician Assistants, in an emergency, shall be authorized to treat any medical disease and/or perform any medical and surgical procedures at the hospital for affiliates. An emergency, for these purposes, is defined as a situation in which any delay in administering treatment would result in serious harm to the patient or an immediate life threat to the patient and that a qualified practitioner is not immediately available.
The activities listed above may be performed in any setting authorized by the supervising physician, including but not limited to, clinics, hospitals, and other institution settings.
Works Collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary Neurosciences Center team including Neurology attending physicians, social workers, genetic counselors, and patient care technicians.
Facilitates the coordination of complex patient care.
Works collaboratively with the attending physician to maintain timely and appropriate communication with patients and family members both in person and over the phone/video.
Assists in the coordination of research endeavors and clinical trials, including patient screening, enrollment, and ensuring required diagnostic studies and documentation are appropriate and available for data collection.
Participates in the development and monitoring of patients outcome for purposes and quality improvement.
Considers the needs and behaviors of specific patient age, social background, and cultural group in all patient care.
Work within team to identify and eliminate or minimize potential barriers to treatment or access to patient care for Neurology patients.
Promotes own professional growth and development in clinical role.
Participates in clinical trails as needed.
Provides outpatient care.
Attends conferences. Present and discuss clinical cases, review patient's candidacy for clinical trial eligibility, and participate in continuing medical education activities.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program
- Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York State
- NCCPA certified
- BLS & ACLS
- Bachelor's Degree
