We are Abel HR, founded in 1992, Abel HR is a family-owned and operated Professional Employer Organization (PEO) that offers human resources and benefits administration services to small to mid-size companies.
We have a dynamic opportunity for a Benefit Assistant to join our team. Candidate must have benefit experience to be considered.
Requirements:
- Assisting employees with various benefit programs (enrollments, terminations, changes, claims, monthly transit program, and others).
- Prepare and compile employee and client benefit reports from HRIS system.
- Assist with Open Enrollment processes, life changing events, annual FSA, and HSA enrollment.
- Maintain and organize shared electronic benefits files and databases and scan key documentation as appropriate.
- Maintain various databases and download files related to benefit plans.
- Assist team members as needed by providing additional support on special projects and other escalated tasks, as needed.
- Ability to work extended hours if business needs dictate.
- Review daily reports for enrollments, updates, and changes to employee account.
- Support employees with enrolling and making benefit changes on the third-party portal
- Assist with uploading rate changes to third-party portal
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of one-year experience in benefits support or related function. PEO, HRO, or BPO industry experience is a plus.
- Experience in fast paced customer service-oriented environment highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high levels of task completion and demands.
- Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel) and intermediate skill level of Microsoft Office Word.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
- Excellent communicator in writing and verbally in formal and informal business settings.
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
- Tech Savvy.
- Team player, self-starter, results-focused, strong work ethic.
- Must be enthusiastic and customer-service driven.
- High ethical standards.
