Qualifications
Master’s degree in counseling, or social work.
At least 1-2 years experience in a mental health setting preferred, willing to train the right candidate.
As evidenced by previous work experience, academic background, and in-service or other training, the (L)MHP shall demonstrate a working knowledge of: the normal processes of child and adolescent development; dysfunctional families and family systems counseling; mental and nervous conditions of childhood, adolescence, and adulthood: and community resources
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Maintain a current driver’s license and maintain current insurance.
Job Environment
The (Licensed) Mental Health Professional typically works in the office, community, but may use telehealth services as advised by the Louisiana Department of Health.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct counseling and support services in-person or through telehealth, with dignity and respect, to improve mental health and community wellness. Conduct psycho-educational, supportive crisis counseling, Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) and Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) in the residence or community.
- Observe and monitor clients' medication compliance.
- MHP must maintain comprehensive and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, that align with best practices and quality standards outlined in the treatment plan. Provide on-call crisis management specific duties including, but not limited to, crisis planning, crisis intervention, and support.
- Provide case management services and referrals to community agencies for clients and families. Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings.
