Duties

• Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate and timely billing
• Enter daily procedure charges and submit to appropriate insurance carriers.
• Assign appropriate medical/dental codes using CPT, CDT, and ICD-10
• Verify insurance coverage, formulate financial treatment plans
• Discuss with the patient and/or family the financial responsibilities for proposed oral surgery procedures
• Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve billing issues
• Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and appeal as necessary
• Provide excellent customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Experience

• Previous experience in medical billing or related field
• Proficient in medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
