Position: General School Nurse
Location: Ellensburg, WA
Type: Full-Time
Start Date: August 26, 2024
End Date: June 16, 2025
Hours: 35 Hours Per Week
Number of School Sites: 2 Campuses
Caseload: Approximately 550 Students, Ages 3-22 (including at least one Type 1 diabetic and possibly a second)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• General Nursing Care: Deliver comprehensive nursing services to students at two campuses, including first aid, health assessments, and daily health management.
• Health Monitoring: Conduct routine health screenings, maintain accurate health records, and manage health needs for students with life-threatening conditions.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies.
• Collaboration: Work with IEP and 504 teams, community providers, and school staff to develop and implement Individual Health Care Plans and Emergency Health Care Plans.
• Administrative Support: Coordinate with building secretaries and administrators and report directly to the Superintendent.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in Washington State
• Experience in school or pediatric nursing
• Ability to develop and manage health care plans for students with life-threatening conditions
• Familiarity with IEP and 504 processes
