Client: Network/Telecom Service Provider

Position: Network Technician

Title: Network Service Activations Technician

Location: Carlsbad, CA (Onsite)

Pay Rate: 25-28/hr

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 40 hrs/wk; M-F; Standard Shift

Duration: Ongoing Contract (for now) - can convert FTE

Team: Tech, Service Director, Engineer x2 (all Robert Half)

Interview: Phone Screen > Onsite > Start

Job Duties: 

• Remotely oversee and assist field technicians installing and activating equipment at customer locations
• Coordinate with customer contacts, field technicians, and other vendors to overcome issues
• Verify customer sites are ready for installation (site surveys, work order creation/scheduling)
• Provide detailed summaries of work
• Troubleshoot telecom equipment (remotely)
• Provide feedback on process improvements, product changes, customer experience
• Train new technicians
• Provision/assemble equipment

Top Skills:

• Strong Network and Technical Support Skills
• Capable of Installing VoIP systems (PBX/CloudPBX preferred)
• Understand VoIP, SIP, ATA, POTS (plain old telephones)
• Understand Routers (Cradlepoint preferred)
• Understand LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, CAT 5/6 Cabling
• Nice-to-Have: Background working for a Cable or Telecom Company. Wireless Routers knowledge, 4G/5G main carriers: AT& T, Verizon, T-Mobile
