We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Controller in the manufacturing industry, located in Hebron, Kentucky. This role will involve monitoring all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. As a Controller, you will be actively involved in evaluating, recommending, and executing improvements to our cost accounting practices and procedures.
Key responsibilities:
• Monitoring all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
• Evaluating and assessing cost accounting practices and procedures
• Recommending and implementing improvements to cost accounting practices and procedures
• Establishing and monitoring financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards regularly
• Coordinating and overseeing the preparation of financial statements
• Coordinating activities of internal and external auditors as needed
• Assessing current accounting operations and offering recommendations for improvement
• Implementing new processes for accounting and internal control systems
• Establishing a budgeting process and managing the receipt and payment of all invoices, payments, and billing
• Developing and enforcing internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
• Providing senior management with information vital for the decision-making process
• Supervising performance regarding accountant reconciliations and other accounting functions including reporting.
• Compiling statistical data to support footnotes to company financial statements
• 5+ years of managerial accounting experience including month end close, budgeting, reporting, and internal controls
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology
• Background in manufacturing industry preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
