Job Description

Delta Biofuel is seeking a safe driver and experienced commercial drivers license (CDL) holder to take a role as Truck Driver for its ground-breaking bagasse pelletizing facility in Jeanerette, Louisiana. Construction has begun and Delta is seeking immediate involvement of an ideal candidate who can take part in the establishment of policy, procedures, and logistics development for the plant. In addition to being a safe driver, the candidate should be able to show a history of working in a team, encouraging community, and collaborating with others. Significant experience is also required regarding ability to follow laws and safety guidelines and operate in a healthy work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks to and from the facility
• Maintain clean and safe workplace
• Work on a rotating 12-hr shift schedule while remaining focused and punctual (Dupont Schedule)
• Provide feedback to Logistics Manager for areas for improvement
• Be flexible and attentive to potentially daily changes in driving routes
• Ensure adherence to rules, procedures, and workplace policies
• Execute logistics plans / routes to effectively and safely move feedstock and product
• Manage all aspects of their specific truck safety and operations
• Respect all applicable traffic laws and regulations

Work Experience

• Required commercial drivers license (CDL)
• 2+ years of experience in truck driving / logistics
• Experience in agriculture trucking and logistics is of significant value
• Strong communication, safety and interpersonal skills
