Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager/Coordinator with experience in the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and Construction & Demolition (C&D) sectors. The ideal candidate will oversee safety protocols, ensure compliance with industry standards, and implement safety training programs.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with MTA and C&D industry standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Coordinate safety training programs for employees, including C3 and C5 protocols, Track Training, and ADA compliance.
Ensure compliance with PMG 123 safety regulations and other relevant safety codes.
Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend preventive measures.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to integrate safety requirements into project plans and schedules.
Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents for regulatory reporting.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Safety Manager or Coordinator in the MTA and C&D sectors.
In-depth knowledge of C3 and C5 safety protocols, Track Training procedures, and ADA project requirements.
Familiarity with PMG 123 regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify safety risks and propose solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate teams.
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management software.
