Financial Controller - Tampa FL
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures tailored to the needs of a growing propane distribution company.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy in general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with each department to enhance financial processes and alignment with our overall goals, ensuring scalability as the company grows
- Monitor accounts receivable and ensure efficient collection of payments, critical for maintaining cash flow in the distribution sector.
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring bills are being input correctly and paid in a timely manner.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support decision-making by the leadership team at Propane Ninja.
- Stay informed about industry trends and updates in accounting standards relevant to our industry.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial roles, ideally within the distribution industry or a similarly dynamic small business environment.
- Profound knowledge of financial concepts, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in using advanced accounting software for general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills with a proven track record of interpreting complex financial data relevant to distribution operations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
