Part time position available for a Program Aide to assist our Social Work Department. Must speak Arabic and English to be able to translate.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-1:00 pm .
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate. Some experience with the frail elderly and/or developmentally disabled, either paid or volunteer for at least one year. This may include experience with family or friends.
- Bi-lingual in Arabic/English a MUST.
- Caring and patient attitude.
- Aides shall exhibit a capacity for learning, and ability to comprehend the use of written and spoken English, and have personal qualities conductive to good interpersonal relationships with demonstrative competence in helping others.
- Must be a team player and step in to cover the duties of other aides when needed.
- Must maintain clear and timely communication with a multidisciplinary team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Social Work Department with translation, documentation and care coordination.
- Assist with preparation and distribution of meals and snacks including seating, feeding, monitoring designated special diets, and monitoring food intake.
- Assist participants to and from vans, buses, taxis and/or family vehicles.
- Nursing Department with taking vital signs (blood pressure & pulse).

- Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, schedules, and preferences is essential for an Activity Coordinator.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and come up with creative solutions is vital.
- Leadership: You may be responsible for leading teams or supervising volunteers, so strong leadership skills are essential.
- Scheduling and Coordination: The ability to plan and schedule events, as well as coordinate with multiple team members.
- Creativity: Ability to think creatively to develop engaging programs and activities that cater to diverse interests and needs of the participants.
