Job Description:
We are looking for a versatile and experienced Network Administrator to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with 1-5 years of experience who enjoys a mix of hands-on network management and helpdesk support. The position involves approximately 15% travel for managing network installations at client sites, with the remainder of your time focused on resolving helpdesk tickets and maintaining our clients’ network infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Installations: Plan, configure, and install network systems at client locations. Ensure that all network components are optimally set up and secure.
- Helpdesk Support: Provide tier 2/3 support, addressing network-related helpdesk tickets, troubleshooting issues remotely and on-site.
- Network Maintenance: Regularly monitor network performance, perform upgrades, and implement security measures to protect client networks.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities. Create SOPs for network helpdesk and installations.
- Client Communication: Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on ongoing projects, and deliver training when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 1-5 years in network administration or IT support roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with networking protocols, firewall configurations, router and switch setup, VPNs, and network security.
- Tools: Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.
- Flexibility: Ability to travel up to 15% of the time for network installations and on-site support.
Compensation:
- This is a contract position paid on an hourly basis.
- You will receive a 1099 at the end of the year.
- Hourly rate is competitive and based on experience.
