Olivia Quinlan from Robert Half is seeking a Network Administrator in Syracuse, New York. The role involves ensuring stable and efficient operation of enterprise data, voice, and video networks, along with multiple remote networks. This position will also play a key part in the implementation, maintenance, and integration of WAN, LAN, and server architecture.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the planning, development, installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware and communication links
• Assist in the administration and operation of policies and programs related to the network and systems infrastructure
• Participate in the deployment of new solutions, potentially outside of regular business hours to minimize disruptions during peak times
• Contribute to cybersecurity initiatives by monitoring security alerts, evaluating the effectiveness of current measures, and suggesting improvements in line with industry developments
• Engage with new technology to enhance skills and support career development within the organization
• Address escalated tickets from Tier I & Tier II support
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Network Administrator role or similar within the Financial Services industry
• Experience with Microsoft Azure
• Clear understanding of the differences and functionalities of LAN vs. WAN
• Experience with Meraki
• Knowledge and experience in Cybersecurity compliance
• Basic Network Troubleshooting skills
• Experience in Firewall administration, configuration, deployment, rules, security and technologies
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Cisco Catalyst Switches
• Proficient in working with Network Switches and Router Switches
• Proficient understanding and experience with IP Routing and IP Routing Protocols
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is preferred
