Position Overview

The main objective of the Field Service Technician at Hill & Markes a BradyPLUS Company is to proactively maintain equipment, perform repairs, and conduct onsite installation and testing tasks while representing the company in a professional and safe manner. This position will be traveling between Albany, NY and Catskill, NY.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• Operate vehicles in a safe manner and use field automation systems.
• Follow all company procedures and protocols.
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
• Interact with customers in a professional manner.
• Coordinate and prioritize needs and tasks as they change.
• Meet industry performance and quality standards.
• Cross-departmental engagement with internal support teams to promote customer service, good teamwork, and help meet company goals.
• Repair all floor and carpet care equipment sold by the company and, where applicable, Coordinate with Sanitary Maintenance Consultants and Service Center Manager for appointments.
• Calculate estimates on parts and labor when requested and notify customers.
• Maintain and keep the vehicle clean at all times, inside and out.
• Check oil, battery, radiator, power steering, and brake fluid.
• Label and repair all machines as required when brought into the Service Center for repair or done on site.
• Upon completion of repair, properly fill out repair work order.
• Keep work area in clean and safe condition.
• Operate a forklift if needed.
• Must wear appropriate and approved safety equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ Years Experience
• High School Diploma
• Valid Drivers’ License
• Mechanical Ability to include reading instructions, diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of electronic circuitry.
• A background in mechanics and diagnostics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and AS400 is a plus.
• The ability to manage high-stress or busy periods while maintaining professional relationships.
• Ability to work independently.
• Detail-orientated with excellent follow-up skills.
• The ability to work safely and follow appropriate government mandated guidelines.
• Bilingual Spanish a plus.
• Required to stand, sit, stoop, bend and kneel.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 100lbs.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
