Attorney – Injunction for Protection

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 a year
Job Type: Full-time 4 ten-hour workdays!

Position Summary
Enjoy a four-day work week! The Injunction for Protection Attorney is employed by Seminole County Victims’ Rights Coalition to provide consultation and direct representation to survivors of domestic, dating and sexual violence and stalking in temporary and final injunction for protection proceedings and prosecutions of violations of injunctions.
Principal Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meet with survivors to provide legal advice to determine whether seeking an injunction is a safe and appropriate legal remedy.
- Complete and file petitions for injunctions for survivors and represent survivors at final injunction hearings.
- Be responsible for gathering data to complete all monthly and quarterly reports as required at the direction of the lead attorney.
- Responsible for managing a caseload from initial contact to scheduling, calendaring, follow-up, hearing prep, ect.
Qualifications
- Member of the Florida Bar in Good Standing.
- A minimum of 2 years litigation experience preferred.
- Ability to display sincere empathy for clients.
- Ability to convey information effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Experience in Family or Criminal Law preferred.
- A good understanding of the laws as it relates to domestic violence.
- The IFP Attorney will possess highly developed interpersonal skills, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and must be able to make appropriate decisions relating to providing effective legal representations.
- Bilingual English/Spanish beneficial
