Entry-Level IT Support Technician
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as an Entry-Level IT Support Technician. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our staff, providing essential support for a range of IT needs, ensuring our hardware and software systems run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Offer end-user support, promptly resolving issues to ensure uninterrupted day-to-day operations.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, ensuring reliable access to resources and the internet.
Handle hardware and software issues, including repairs and troubleshooting for specific computers, label makers, and other devices.
Conduct routine maintenance checks to update hardware and software, enhancing system efficiency and security.
Setup or modify devices and systems, including badges, cameras, and other essential office technology.
Assist with the administration and troubleshooting of Line-of-Business Applications (e.g., Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Accounting Software).
Document the network configuration and changes, maintaining accurate records for IT infrastructure.
Provision new user and instrument workstations, ensuring seamless integration into our IT environment.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with IoT devices and their integration into business environments.
Basic understanding of PowerShell/Python scripting to automate tasks and improve system management.
SQL experience for database management.
Exposure to cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure), understanding their application in business settings.
Familiarity with any type of Virtualization/Containerization technologies.
Qualifications:
A keen interest in IT support and technology, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication abilities, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
A foundational understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
Relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA A+) is a plus but not required.
