As a Concrete Construction Estimator, your main responsibility will be to estimate the work of commercial concrete projects (Structural, post-tension, Flatwork, and Tilt-up) by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

Concrete Construction Estimator duties and responsibilities

• Explore documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of the project requirements
• Ensure cost-efficiency throughout the process through on-site visits to learn more about the client's requirements through analyzing proposals, blueprints, and construction documents to comprehensively recognize project conditions
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and             subcontractors. Establish relationships to obtain several quotes for construction materials and processes, and negotiate for best pricing
• Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
• Perform analysis of collected data and metrics, and risk assessments to account for potential deviations from the project plan/schedule

Desired Skills and Experience

• Previous working experience as a construction estimator for 5+ years in the commercial concrete industry
• In-depth knowledge of project management 
• Hands-on experience with complex data research activities
• Deep understanding of technical and non-technical construction documents
• Experience with Estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Autodesk, Revit, or similar programs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in negotiation with experienced sales personnel
• Maintain professionalism when faced with aggressive deadlines
• BA in engineering, construction science or similar relevant field

Compensation/Salary is market competitive at the top of the industry, and is commensurate with experience.
