Job Description

RCH Solutions is seeking an experienced Dotmatics software developer to join our team to assist with our client’s ongoing development and operational support of their platform for their evolving research goals. The ideal candidate will have the experience and skills necessary to drive the evolution, integration and support of the platform. They will also be able to consult on lab workflows, scientific computing integration and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and customize Dotmatics solutions to meet the specific needs of scientific research teams. This includes scripting, report generation, and UI/UX enhancements.
• Integrate Dotmatics with other data management systems and lab instruments to streamline data capture, analysis, and reporting processes.
• Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and optimize the performance of Dotmatics applications.
• Manage and ensure the integrity and security of scientific data within Dotmatics applications. Facilitate data migration and harmonization as required.
• Work closely with scientists, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide training, and implement best practices in data management and informatics.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of customizations, workflows, and procedures. Ensure that all developments adhere to regulatory and compliance standards.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in Dotmatics and informatics tools. Propose and implement new features and functionalities to improve the platform’s usability and effectiveness.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Extensive experience with Dotmatics software, including ELN, Bioregister, Studies Notebook, and other modules.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, or similar programming languages for customizing and automating Dotmatics workflows.
• Proficiency in managing large datasets, database queries (SQL), and understanding data structures relevant to life sciences research.
• Experience with API integrations, RESTful services, and connecting Dotmatics with other laboratory and enterprise systems (e.g., LIMS, ERP).
• Familiarity with scientific data management and analysis
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in Life Sciences realm
• Familiarity with other informatics platforms
• Knowledge of cheminformatics or bioinformatics
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
