Delivered started as a side project for the founder, Andrew Hurst. Spending nearly 20yrs in the logistics industry, Andrew saw firsthand how the industry has changed along with people's purchasing habits. He saw his current customers facing capacity issues, transit delays, and substantial price increases from a few select incumbent carriers. The real problem was that this not only affected the e-retailers, but it also affected the consumer, the buyer… people like him, and people like you. As a proven entrepreneur, he set out to fix the problem e-retailers face when connecting their customers with their physical products.

Delivered is currently in the process of building our product for commercialization. Position Description

We are seeking an Experienced Software Developer to assist with developing the next generation of logistics technology to facilitate optimal nationwide parcel delivery. Challenges range from consolidation and routing systems, vision systems for sort and segmentation control, industry wide integrations, data management at scale, monitoring and system controls, and shaping user interoperability.

Joining the core development team and often interfacing with the CTO, this role will have the opportunity to influence and implement the technology roadmap. Key responsibilities will include prototyping, core system development, database design, scalability planning, vendor and customer integration planning, and security reviews and testing.

Specific responsibilities include:

· Collaborate with management to translate business plans into a technical implementation

· Identify vaguely defined or missing use cases and proactively seek clarity from subject matter experts

· Collaborate closely with other team members to contribute both strategically and directly through your code

· Adapt plans and implementations as the business evolves

· Participate in agile-like development processes (we focus on leadership over dogma)

· Ensure systems achieve a high level of scalability, resiliency, and security

· Careful design of relational databases to handle high volumes of mission critical data

· Implement business logic through internal RESTful APIs

· Implement customer facing APIs that are well documented

· Integrate with third-party APIs and libraries

· Build internal command line tooling

· Minimal web interface implementations to garner feedback on system design

Qualifications:

· 5+ years of development experience, coupled with passion for developing products on a cross-functional team

· Comfort working in a start-up environment that demands adaptability and resilience

· Experience building production-ready applications from the ground up

· Comfort with overcoming last minute technical challenges

· Ability to clarify user demands while communicating implementation challenges and limitations

· Invested in finding the balance between dogmatic solutions and practicality

· A desire to express complex systems in reasonably simple/minimalist terms

· Adaptable to existing development processes and infrastructure

Required Skills and Abilities:

· Strong Python 3.x experience required

· Strong relational database experience required

· Experience operating in a Linux environment required

· Experience with RESTful APIs required

· Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JavaScript required

· Ability to document code and processes with clarity required

· Messaging and task system experience advantageous

· Experience with integration and unit testing advantageous

· Familiarity with the cloud (AWS) advantageous

· Familiarity with security processes and principles advantageous

· Familiarity with JetBrains tooling advantageous (will be required in this position)
