Job Description
United Talent Staffing is seeking a Manager - Financial Reporting to join the Hope Gas team at their Morgantown, WV location.
The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing financial reporting through all levels of the organization, consolidations, board packages, and audit preparation. This role ensures the integrity of accounting information following company practices and GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high-quality accounting reporting according to GAAP.
  • Manage preparation of annual audited financial statements along with requisite footnotes and disclosure details. Coordinate audit activity in support of these statements.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting controls and conclusions. Provide support for the analysis and implementation of emerging accounting standards
  • Routinely interact with internal and external customers, provide accounting guidance for internal business groups
  • Oversee preparation of consolidating financial statements at various levels for board package and management reporting
  • Support regulatory filings and requests
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc analysis as requested by the Accounting and Finance leadership team

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a People Leader with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach team members as they work to achieve performance goals by utilizing leadership routines such as weekly check-ins, monthly team meetings, quarterly skills coaching, and annual reviews.
  • Identify effective goals and objectives for the team and implement a plan to execute them.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Utility accounting experience is highly preferred
  • CPA highly preferred
  • SAP and BW experience preferred.

Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of general accounting experience or 5+ years of experience working in public accounting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP practices and procedures
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of personal initiative and self-motivation
