Job Title: Machinist

Job Summary: Intelligen Ashlor staffing is seeking torecruit a machinist to join our team. We have an immediate need for a Machinist. Under thedirection of the Machine Shop Foreman, the machinist takes rough forgings and parts andtransforms them into finished machined products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprint engineering plans, materials,specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces andmachining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.

• Sets up and programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero andreference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches;calculating requirements including basic math, geometry and trigonometry.

• Installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings,cams, gears, stops and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.

• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning,facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls;sharping and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures andprocesses.

• Sets up raw or semi-finished material onto the chuck/machine.

• Ability to operate at least one of the following; a) horizontal boring mill; b) lathes;c) drill presses; d) Bridgeport milling

• Checks lubricating fluids periodically.

• Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment working on.

• Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices.• Performs internal quality control of machining procedures.

• Sets up and performs jobs based on shop practices and procedures.

• Familiar with the knowledge and use of precision equipment (micrometers; indicators,gauges, etc.

• Machinist tools required

Qualifications: Knowledge - HS diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience; knowledge ofmachining practices. CNC experience helpful. Read and write English language; mustcomprehend and use geometry & algebra; able to read and interpret drawings, accurately readand interpret measuring devises. Experience in a fab shop helpful.
