About the Role:

As a critical member of our small engineering team, you'll have a major impact on the patient experience, developer experience, and engineering culture. You'll help design and build the technology that powers our user-centric care platform. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving real health challenges through technology. They are well versed in building functionality from scratch and taking proofs of concept to production and scale. The right fit will have the engineering experience to build and iterate quickly, is able to work well with product, design, and stakeholders across the business, and is comfortable with infrastructure and developer tools.

This role is based in New York City, with in-person work at least two times per week.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with product and design teammates to design and implement patient and provider-facing features for our care delivery platform.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable systems that you and other technical users will leverage.
• Support code quality and maintainability through code reviews, automated testing, and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement in our engineering practices, including code quality, deployment processes, and incident response.
• Test and learn as quickly while laying the framework to build a more scalable product over time.
• Investigate platform bugs and incidents.

Qualifications:

• A strong individual contributor with at least 4 years of professional software engineering experience, excited about solving problems through both independent research and collaboration with teammates
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environment
• Expertise with modern web development frameworks: Backend (Node.js preferred), Frontend (React)
• Strong background in AWS ECS, Terraform, and Docker
• Experience with GraphQL
• Familiar with Github Actions
• Comfortable with DataDog Monitoring and Alerting
• Familiarity with security best practices
• Comfortable driving the adoption of DevOps and/or SRE principles and practices
• Experience with end-to-end testing
• Excellent collaborator and communicator, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and other engineers

Bonus points:

• Experience in regulated industries including healthcare, financial services, or similar
• Experience with mobile development
• Familiarity with NextJs
