We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and implement functional software solutions. We encourage people to push the boundaries on creativity and expect them to be comfortable working in groups as well as independently. In this role you will define software requirements and take the lead on technical projects. Solving problems should excite you and leveraging methodologies like Agile will guide you. Success is developing products that expand our learning and deliver value to our community of users. 

Responsibilities we expect of you

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture
• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve products
• Document development phases and monitor systems
• Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies

Skills and experience we prefer

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer
• Extensive experience in software development, scripting and project management
• Experience using system monitoring tools (e.g. Sentry, Cloudwatch) and automated testing frameworks
• In depth knowledge of JavasScript and select programming languages (e.g. TypeScript, NodeJS, Express, React, Python)
• Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. DynamoDB)
• Knowledge of cloud base platforms (e.g. AWS)
• Familiarity with various operating systems (Mac OS, Windows)
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• BS/BA in Computer Science or a related degree
