POSITION TITLE –

We’re seeking for a Active Support Professionalto join our TERI team!

The Active Support Professional is responsible for assuring that activity plans are appropriate for the group being served; that staff are providing graded assistance and engaging in positive interactions with their clients; and that staff are trained and delivering the right amount of support at the right time; and that activities are modified to ensure that each learner has multiple opportunities to participate with the least amount of assistance possible. While Active Support Professionals could work with any group at the Center for the Arts, the focus is on those individuals who have multiple or severe disabilities. While supervisors design the activity plans, the Active Support Professional will adapt these plans as needed so that all learners can engage to the best of their potential. This position is a Direct Support Professional position with responsibilities that include assisting individuals with personal care, providing behavioral support, and obtaining a class B driver’s license. Active Support Professionals will have instructional responsibilities with revolving groups of adults.

QUALIFICATIONS –

• Ability to obtain a driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• Highschool diploma/GED; Associate/Bachelor's degree is desirable with a minimum of four-year experience working with developmental disabilities individual.
• A thorough understanding of the principles and strategies of active support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Criminal background check required.
